After fierce competition, we successfully secured the bid on April 13, 2022, for the landmark ‌New Footscray Hospital Project‌ in Australia. With unwavering support from both our parent and subsidiary companies, the entire overseas team demonstrated exceptional vigor and dedication. This contract has laid a robust foundation for accomplishing our annual objectives.

‌Project Overview:‌

‌Location‌: Corner of Geelong Road and Ballarat Road, Footscray, Victoria.

‌Significance‌: Victoria’s largest healthcare infrastructure investment to date, totaling AUD 1.5 billion.

‌Scope‌: Lingyun is responsible for ‌Buildings A and B‌, the largest structures in the five-building complex, featuring ‌30,000 m² of curtain walls.

‌Challenges & Strategy:‌

Despite pandemic-induced delays in Australian projects, the New Footscray Hospital attracted intense competition. The bidding process progressed sequentially from smaller buildings (E, D, and C) to the largest (A and B). From initial tracking to final submission, Lingyun team meticulously prepared for every stage, ultimately reaping the rewards of perseverance.

This project marks our first foray into a hospital contract of such complexity, requiring advanced facade systems, diverse materials, and stringent quality standards. It signifies our strategic shift in Australia from traditional apartments and offices to high-demand public infrastructure, showcasing enhanced capabilities in design, production, logistics, and safety.

Builder‌: A long-term partner with whom we collaborated on prior projects like ‌WSP, 83 Pirie Street‌, and ‌308 Exhibition Street. Our proven track record in excellence performance has solidified trust and market reputation.

‌Technical Complexity‌:

Though the building height is modest (60.15m), the facade features over ‌30 dynamic GRC decorative strips‌ on the podium. From precise quantity surveys to optimizing technical solutions through close coordination with GRC suppliers, our team pursued cost-effective global sourcing and seamless cross-border collaboration.
